It’s been a while since the last post. Too much work, but that is a good thing, I’m not complaining. Time to catch up. This one was published in the last issue of The New Yorker. Where the Wild Things Are, lovely book, lovely illustrations by Sendak and lovely film (I haven’t seen it but the trailer is awesome)
Hace rato que no publico nada, mucho trabajo. Ahora que estoy mas tranquilo es momento de ponerse al día. Este dibujo apareció en el ultimo número de el New Yorker. Donde Viven los Mounstros, la no muy feliz traducción del maravilloso libro de Sendak que ahora tiene su versión cinematográfica que por lo que vi en la cola promete.
I recently did the illustration for the poster of the Monterey Jazz Festival. I’m thrilled! This is the kind of assigments I looove to do. Wynton Marsalis will be playing there! and John Scolfield, and Chic Corea. I can´t believe it! I can´t wait to see some pictures of them playing in a stage with my illo. The Festival is in september. Hace poco hice una ilustración para el poster del Festival de Jazz de Monterey. Estoy realmente emocionado, esta es la clase de trabajos que me encanta hacer. Wynton Marsalis, John Scolfield, Chic Corea van a estar ahí. La verdad es que apenas lo puedo creer. No puedo esperar a ver fotos de esos mounstros tocando con mi dibujito de fondo en el escenario. I did this illustration many years ago, just because I wanted to. I love Prince’s music and I enjoy drawing people I admire. He saw it…liked it, and bought it!!! It was used last year for the poster of Coachella. Man, I’m so proud!!
Hice esta ilustracion hace unos cuantos años, porque tenía ganas, me gusta la musica de Prince y me gusta dibujar gente a la que le tengo simpatía. Prince la vio, le gustó…. y la compró. El año pasado la usaron para el poster de Coachella. Todo un orgullo.

In the nineties, while I was studying graphic design I used to buy the Communication Arts illustration annuals, some kind of bible to me. I never imagined that some years later they would select my work to published and make me a short interview. I’m really Flattered!
En los noventa, mientras cursaba diseño en la facultad compraba los anuarios de ilustracion de Communication Arts y me los devoraba con los ojos. Nunca se me ocurrio pensar que un par de años despues iban a publicar algunos de mis dibujos y me iban a hacer una pequeña entrevista. Todo un honor
Hoy estoy triste, el dia amanecio gris y las hojas de la encina… No che, estoy jodiendo, este blog no es acerca de mi o mis sentimientos, es acerca de mi trabajo como ilustrador, que quiza podria llegar a interesar a alguien. Si no es asi lamnto molestar pero me gusta esto de andar mostrandolo. La idea es postear muchas imagenes y pocas palabras, y ya empezamos. Este Woody Allen lo hice para una revista llamada Paste con la cual siempre es un placer colaborar, Si quieren comentar, comenten.
